The following posting was such a marvelous song, that

it needed to be part of the Dragons-Inn for

the long term.  Enjoy!  And compliments to

Coleen Pittman!

Subject: [Inn] - Siobhann - Health to the Company

Date: Fri, 07 Jul 95 21:48:39 GMT

Siobhann asks Sera for a final ale--a real one this time--and calls out.

"Sure, and ye've all been a fine, fine audience.  I'd like to leave ye wi'

one last wee song-- sing it wi' me if you'd like."  She lifts her tankard

in toast and cries:

"A Health to the Company!"  and downs it four gulps.  Wiping her mouth

with the side of her sleeve she breaths a contented sigh and begins to tap

out a pounding rythym, using her harp as drum.  Her voice lifts,

unaccompanied, into song.

"Here's a health to the company and one to my lass.

Let's drink and be merry all out of one glass.

Let's drink and be merry, all grief to refrain,

For we may and might never all meet here again.

"Here's a toast to my own love who I love so well.

For smile and for beauty, there's none can excel.

She smiles at my countenance as she sits on my knee.

Sure and there's no other fellow who's as happy as me.

"Here's a health to the company and one to my lass.

Let's drink and be merry all out of one glass.

Let's drink and be merry, all grief to refrain,

For we may and might never all meet here again.

"Your ship lies in harbor, she's ready to lift dock.

I wish you smooth sailing without any shot.

And if never I meet you by land or by sea,

Sure and I'll always remember your kindness to me.

"Here's a health to the company and one to my lass.

Let's drink and be merry all out of one glass.

Let's drink and be merry, all grief to refrain,

For we may and might never all meet here again."

Admist much cheers and shouted toasts, Siobhann leaves the stage.
