The Stream Riders Guild of Montfort

Actually thought to be the aquatic branch of the Messengers Guild, the Stream Riders are really a whole different association. Well known for its fair prices in boat and raft sales, the guild specializes in relaying messages, packages, even livestock or people to other water-accessible areas.

Being well-spread throughout Ifreann, the guild has recently established itself on the river to the north of Montfort.

The Stream Riders and Messengers have very good relations, and for good reasons: the Stream Riders need the Messengers to bring
their packages to the river offices, and the Messengers need the Stream Riders for long-distance oversea messages.

The guild's branch office in Montfort is mostly just a run-down old wooden shack: renovations are under way. The office holds
the orders and general papers for the shipments and cargo, which in turn are sent to the river station with the package itself. The
presently employed record keeper of the branch office is a rather hard of hearing (make that tone deaf) middle-aged woman named
Bertha Quindaar (Nyvex's niece). She has all the charm of her uncle, which means she's as obnoxious and self-centered as can be expected
of someone who's lived with Nyvex for fifteen years (she took the job to be close to him - they have a weekly whining match at the
Dragon's Inn every friday night).

The guild's Montfort station presently has about two dozen small rafts, six large ones, twenty or so small boats and two large
seaworthy boats. The guild only employs the finest river-men, so that its speed and effectiveness are unmatched in all of Ifreann.

*Not to confuse: the Stream Riders deliver packages and the like, while the Messengers relay just that: messages and letters.*
