Hall of Worlds
The intense UV and X radiation from Bellatrix blasts the landscape and causes rock and
minerals to glow. The atmosphere is filled with metal vapors, providing spectacular
displays of color - for any who can survive to witness them.
Ancient before the first dragons arrived in the solar system, of unknown origin, the
Hall of Worlds is an abandoned city of doors and chambers, each of which leads to other
places and, perhaps, times. There are no known limits to the places that can be accessed
but then again, not many have returned from a visit to the Hall of Worlds and
consequently, very little is "actually" known about it.

The proximity to the blue-white giant Bellatrix causes several problems with access and
visits to the Hall of Worlds:
- All portals are one-way, from the Hall of Worlds to where ever. There is NO portal
that leads to the Hall of Worlds.
- Once every 100 years, the planets line-up and shield Bellatrix for a period of 24
hours. It is ONLY during this time that magical teleportation spells, gates, etc., to
the Hall of Worlds will function. All other journeys to the Hall of Worlds must be made
physically, somehow.
- Exposed to hard radiation from Bellatrix, NO living entity can survive longer than a
half hour. Skeletons of all manner of beings, humans, dragons, not-so human, etc., that
were too slow to take advantage of the portals litter the streets or, at least, the
outlines of skeletons in the dust into which the hard radiation reduces bone are visible
if the wind has not blown them away.
- There is NO magical protection which will last more than 5 minutes, the energy of the
star simply destroys such spells.
- The technology required to create the required protection will have the result of
killing all life on Ifreann long before it is developed.
Those that have survived a journey believe that the complex somehow uses the stars energy
to make things work but, then again there are not many entities which have returned from
such a visit..
